ADSA & TECCO
Ruth Peterson is a Liverpool born designer best known for her graduate collection, featuring the ‘ADSA’ puffa jacket. Her pieces take influence from silhouettes within streetwear, with oversized puffas and baggy sweaters. Her ‘TECCO gilet’ and ‘ADSA Puffa Jacket’ are a reminder of the over-saturation of marketing in society, commenting on the use of branding within the current market. One of her most recent pieces took to remaking the artwork from the film “Halloween” to read “Hollaween”, with what looks like a dealer on his burner phone; an ode to her more recent experiences of the gritty elements of London’s cultural offerings.
The editorial , shot in a supermarket car park, was modelled by street-cast teens and directed and shot by two up and coming youngsters. Daniel Pacitti, who directed the shoot, explained that the clothes lent to a need to make the images feel somewhat authentic, “like it could be a real life situation and the models could be three friends hanging about after school”.
