The Basement Pop-Up – East London Takeover

If only we collaborated with the Beigel Bakery

This weekend saw The Basement take residence at 4 Holywell Lane with a two day ‘East London takeover’. Opening Saturday morning, the pop-up played host to a select few vendors; Arco Maher brought down a beautiful installation consisting  of an array of archive Stone Island pieces, spanning from mid 80’s to early 2000’s. To accompany the clothing were archive books, posters and a wall full of past editorials created by Archie.

Alongside Archie we had one of the biggest, if not the biggest, collection of Supreme TNf’s in Europe on show at the pop-up. Featuring a minimum of one piece from every capsule, it was a huge accomplishment to get them all under one roof. Mixed in with the jackets, were a huge selection of OG Bape/A Bathing Ape pieces, spanning from the early 90’s right up until the present day. Highlight of the collection for me personally, was the Bape bicycle, star wars figures and pearlescent pink Bapestas.

The Basement featured two collaborative capsules, with London based artist Daniel Cordas and luxury streetwear brand Hiddenlab. However, the highlight of the pop-up was in the basement. Downstairs was home fifa and ping pong tournaments by day, and house party like raves at night. The rave was hosted by the talented Tiffany Calver and Chennesey, topped off by the deceptively strong punch everyone was on.

All in all, it was a great weekend, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came down and showed love at the event.

Catch you in the summer.
