No Justice, No Peace T-Shirt

As part of our continued support for the Black Lives Matter movement, we have released the “No Justice No Peace” t-shirt.

100% of the profits will be split and donated in equal amount to the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust and YF Studio, two grassroots organisations working in London to create opportunities and improve outcomes for young black people. Swipe right to read about their work.

The No Justice, No Peace T-Shirt is priced at £30 and is available to purchase here.

Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust

Stephen Lawrence was a Black British teenager from South London who was murdered in a racially motivated attack in 1993. The fallout from the case resulted in cultural changes of attitudes towards racism and the police, the law and police practice.

A 1998 public inquiry into Stephen’s death and the way it was handled by the Metropolitan Police concluded that the force was institutionally racist.

Since then, the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust has been working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to inspire and enable them to succeed in the career of their choice. They also work to influence others to create a fairer society in which everyone, regardless of their background, can flourish.

YF Studio

YF Studio is a purpose built creative space in Brixton, south London, launched by The Basement in 2018. It was established to provide young people in the local area free access to creative arts workshops and events, as well as providing an open space where they can drop in to pursue their own independent creative endeavours.

YF Studio also serves as a safe space that other community organisations can use to host a range of events and activities that utilise the space and its creative arts facilities.

Access to creative arts education and the creative industries are under severe scrutiny at the moment for lacking diversity and inclusivity. By working with young people from the local area, the majority of whom are black, YF Studio aims to provide skills, access and advocacy to address this imbalance.
