Kickers and Save Our Scene are Supporting Grassroots Music Venues with ‘Stomping Ground’

Kickers and Save Our Scene are joining forces to help save grassroots music venues with a multi-year event series that will take place across the UK.

Kickers’ affinity with UK music runs deep. Since 1975, the brand’s Kick Hi model has been worn by icons from David Bowie and the Stone Roses to Miss Dynamite and So Solid Crew – with the likes of Hak Baker, Skepta, and Eliza Rose still repping the silhouette today.

With the help of Save Our Scene, an organisation dedicated to preserving live UK music, the British shoe brand has launched ‘Stomping Ground’: an event highlighting the ever-increasing number of UK music venues closing their doors, with a series of events across the UK.

Recent statistics reveal that 37% of clubs have closed in the past 4 years (NTIA), with the past 12 months being the worst on record – with 125 spaces having closed or stopped hosting events.

The ‘Stomping Ground’ events will take place across the UK, featuring performances from headline acts and local talent, with proceeds going to Music Venue Trust.

‘Stomping Ground’ will kick off with a performance by Hal Baker celebrating Hak’s original stomping ground, the Windmill in Brixton on 14th November.
