Undercover x Nike ‘Daybreak’

The model is a revised take on the 1979’s Nike Tailwind. A speckled, plastic heel piece has been added to the design that gives the pair a more futuristic appearance. The rest of the sneaker maintains its traditional nylon upper with suede overlays. Undercover branding is stamped on the lateral midsole and tongue tag.

Jaffa Studios Pop Up Shop

London’s very own Jaffa Saba presents a workshop and exhibition at the Great Truman Brewery. Well known for deconstructing and reconstructing product as well as being innovative with footwear, the designer has slowly built a presence within the DIY scene. The workshop session will include denim panelling and a rubber dipping workshop.

Faith Ringgold at Serpentine Galleries

The ground-breaking work of Faith Ringgoldis is celebrated in this exhibition at the Serpentine Galleries, her first in a European institution. Hailing from Harlem, New York, the artist is a painter, writer, mixed media sculptor and performance artist, best known for her narrative quilts.

Taking place at the ICA, Rirkrit Tiravanija is known for a practice that overturns traditional exhibition formats in favour of social interactions through the sharing of everyday activities such as cooking, eating and reading. Creating environments that reject the primacy of the art object, and instead focus on use value and the bringing of people together through simple acts and environments of communal care, Tiravanija’s work challenges expectations around labour and virtuosity.
