Supreme London SS16 – Drop 2 Editorial

Vans caused a bit of co-motion

It’s that time again. The season has touched down, and another Thursday means another drop from the staggered Supreme Spring/Summer ’16 collection. There were a couple of apparel pieces that everyone seemed to be after – the off white knitted arc logo was a firm favourite and sold out in store very, very quickly – but it was the Supreme x Vans Era ‘Motion’ that everyone seemed to have come out for.

The iconic Era shoe was originally called the Vans #95, designed by Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta, two OG skateboarding heads. Supreme usually give their own twist on their Vans collaborations from Playboy logos to quotes such as “Eat Me.” This time round? Well they’ve decided to revisit the Goodfellas inspired ‘motion’ logo, which first debuted in the mid 90’s, and was then re-issued in 2010/11. Placed on the mid sole of one of, if not the most iconic, skate shoes of all time, the clean design will be a no brainer for vans and supreme heads alike.

Could they have done more with the logo? Would you have preferred a different silhouette? Drop your thoughts in the comments below.
